Pitch / The Staff / Treble Clef
Now we learn to notate the highs and lows of sound.
Pitch tells you how High or Low a sound is.
Pitches are named by letters A through G.
How do we know which pitch (letter name) to play?
The Staff
Notes are written on a 5 – line staff.
The notes are placed on a line or a space.
The Treble Clef
The treble clef is also known as the G clef. It tells you that the second line from the bottom is the note G.
The staff is divided into Measures.
Measures are divided by Bar lines.
A Double Bar indicates the end of a song.
